Povilas has wide range traditional classical repertoir with special focus on duo/trio compositions for viola with cello and guitar.
Alongside the classical repertoir his concerts very often includes folk music from different countries and modern compositions inspired by folk music.
Povilas is not only playing viola, but also singing and singing while he is playing viola!
11 composers from Norway , Lithuania and Turkey composed and dedicated to him solo and chamber music works.
Povilas is a very active chamber musician and has participated in many international festivals in Norway and abroad .
He has played directly on Norwegian , Danish , Lithuanian TV and Radio.
Recently Povilas was soloist with orchestra in W.A.Mozart Sinfonie Concertante, M.Bruch Double Concerto and Kjell Marcussen Double Concerto for viola, cello and chamber Orchestra which was composed speccialy for him and cellist Toril Syrrist-Gelgota.
In 2007, together with cellist Toril Syrrist-Gelgota, recorded Povilas the CD "Pilgrimage" , original duets for viola and cello. He has also participated in many other chamber music recordings.
Povilas is very found of presenting Lithuanian music in Norway and Norwegian music in Lithuania. In 2010 he was awarded a medal from the Lithuanian Embassy in Norway for contribution to cultural exchange between these two countries .
